Pamplona turns into a literary haven for World Book Day with authors, bookshops and culture in the streets

23 de April de 2025

On April 23rd, the streets of Pamplona were
transformed into an open-air book fair in celebration of World Book Day.
Literature, local authors, and cultural activities filled the city with life,
fostering a love for reading and community engagement.

Pamplona’s Carlos III Avenue became the heart of the city’s literary
celebration during World Book Day 2025. A total of 17 local bookshops
took their books to the streets, offering 10% discounts and hosting book
signings with 27 Navarrese authors
.

In addition, the City Council distributed 1,763
free copies
of publications focused on local history, literature, and
municipal literary contests. The event included creative writing workshops,
storytelling sessions, author meetups and children’s activities
, many of
them in collaboration with local libraries and cultural centers such as Civivox.

More than a literary celebration, this
event highlights Pamplona’s commitment to local talent, education, and
creativity
—a testament to why Navarra is an exceptional region to live,
work and grow.
