25 de September de 2024

Liceo Monjardín, located in Pamplona, has
taken an innovative step by becoming the first school in Spain to offer a
mandatory subject on cooperativism. This new course aims to instill values such
as collaboration, democracy, and solidarity in students, equipping future
generations to thrive in a participatory work environment.

Cooperativism, a business model that has
had a significant impact both in Navarra and globally, is built on shared
ownership and democratic management. Students at Liceo Monjardín will learn how
cooperatives function and how they can contribute to creating a more equitable
and sustainable economy. This pioneering educational initiative not only leads
the way in Spain but also strengthens Navarra’s commitment to social
innovation, preparing its youth to face future challenges.

Given that Navarra is a national leader in
cooperative enterprises, the region provides an ideal context for this type of
education, offering practical and local examples of successful cooperative
businesses. With this course, Liceo Monjardín promotes a strong academic
foundation while fostering a collaborative mindset among future professionals.
