Navarra and La Rioja aim to create the largest agri-food technology center in Spain

27 de September de 2023

The
President of Navarra, María Chivite, held a meeting with representatives of the
National Center for Food Technology and Safety (CNTA) and the Center for Food
Technology (CTIC-CITA) in which she was informed of the intention of both
entities to initiate a process of integration that would culminate in the
creation of the first technology center for the agri-food sector in Spain.

Preliminary
studies indicate that, by 2030, the new technology center could reach 30
million euros in revenues, employing 300 highly qualified professionals, which
would also make it a driving force for new companies and projects.

The
agri-food sector is strategic for both the Spanish and Navarre economies, since
one of its focal points is the Ebro Valley. This sector faces great challenges
in the coming decades, and innovation and technological development will be key
in this regard.
