28 de May de 2024

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of
Navarra, Rebeca Esnaola, and the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, have held
a meeting to strengthen cultural cooperation between Navarra and the central
government. In this meeting, it was agreed that Navarra will host the next
Plenary Session of the Xacobean Council during the first half of the year, as
part of the commitments made by the Minister in the Sectorial Conference of
Culture in Avilés.

In addition, the joint organization of the I
Conference on Historical Heritage and Renewable Energies in Pamplona on June
27th and 28th was announced. This event, highlighted by Councilor Esnaola as
fundamental to advance in the integration of heritage and sustainability, will
analyze the relationship between historical heritage and renewable energies
from different perspectives, including culture, architecture, urban planning
and landscaping. Local and regional administrations will participate, along
with international experts in renewable energies.

Esnaola and Urtasun also discussed possible
collaborations of the Ministry in the Pamplona Meetings / Iruñeko Topaketak, a
biennial international event of culture, art and thought, to be held from
October 3 to 13 in Pamplona.

The councilor informed about the execution of the
European funds destined to culture in Navarre, which amount to 3,382,000 euros,
and highlighted that most of them have already been justified and finalized.

Finally, she reaffirmed her commitment to continue
collaborating with the Ministry to promote innovative cultural projects and to
support the Law on Cultural Rights under development at the state level, in
which Navarre is the pioneer.
